A Fair Day Out 2019

This Saturday, 21 September, sees the return of the annual A Fair Day Out!

Beginning in 2013, A Fair Day Out is a day of FREE fun activities for the whole community. There are market stalls run by people with a disability and their supporters, stage performances, arts and crafts, animals and so much more.

This year we have Michael, one of our Plan Managed participants, heading up the P2P stall. He’ll be selling raffle tickets and taking gold coin donations to have a go at the NERF shooting gallery!

But maybe Michael should be the one to tell you more about his involvement, and why his chosen charity, Epilepsy Queensland, is so important to him:

My name is Michael aka to many of my close friends I am known as DribbZ.

I am 39 and I have Epilepsy as result of a stroke when I was 8 years old. I lost my speech and use of my right side. I spent a number of months in a hospital bed and further months in a wheelchair.

I was able to recover most of my skills but still can’t speak and am medicated to control my epilepsy, I also have a nephew who suffers much worse than I.

For example, in the last 3 days he had in excess of 30 seizures – he struggles to get to school, stay at school and stay smiling, it’s something no one should have to deal with.

This has started my journey to raise money for Epilepsy Queensland and Anti-Bullying Australia using my hobby and passion… NERF. My first event is a shooting gallery and nerf raffle!!!

Please donate by purchasing a raffle ticket or kindly leaving a donation – THANK YOU

So come along to A Fair Day Out at the Eumundi Markets from 7.30am on September 21, 2019. It’s a fantastic day to celebrate inclusive communities, and maybe win yourself some amazing NERF goodies too!

We look forward to seeing you there!
