November brings a fantastic lineup of opportunities to connect, learn, and build skills across the Fraser Coast and Hinkler communities!
We kick off the month with the Let’s Talk Peer Group on Tuesday, 4 November from 10:00am–1:00pm at the Urangan Wellness Centre, featuring guest speaker Nicole Fuss, a financial resilience worker who will share practical tips on financial wellbeing and recovery to support you and your family. Later in the month, the safeTALK Workshops return to Hervey Bay on Thursday, 14 November and Friday, 15 November. Thursday’s session is designed for members of the disability community, their families, carers, and supporters, offering the chance to learn and practice powerful lifesaving skills in just four hours. Friday’s session is for service providers and professionals supporting the disability community, equipping them with essential knowledge to support others.
We continue the month with another Let’s Talk Peer Group in Maryborough on Wednesday, 19 November, providing opportunities for connection and discussion tailored to the local community. Following this, the safeTALK Workshops will be held at the Maryborough Community Centre on Thursday, 27 November and Friday, 28 November, following the same format as Hervey Bay: Thursday for members of the disability community, families, carers, and supporters, and Friday for service providers and professionals. These workshops provide practical, life-saving skills and a chance to engage with others committed to the safety and wellbeing of the community.
November at P2P Fraser Coast and Hinkler is all about learning, connecting, and supporting one another, whether through peer groups or vital skills workshops that equip both the disability community and those who support them to take action and make a real difference.
