Growing with our local communities
Last month, we were proud to host the safeTALK Suicide Prevention Workshop in Bundaberg for the very first time. This important session was designed especially for people with disability, their families, supporters and carers, creating a safe, inclusive space to learn how to recognise the signs of suicidal thoughts, ask the right questions, and connect people to the help they need.
The feedback has been incredibly positive, and we’re proud to help bring these vital conversations to the forefront in our community.
This August, we continue building connection and support through our Let’s Talk Peer Groups.
Join us on Tuesday 19 August at Aquavue Beachfront Bar and Eatery from 10am–12pm, or come along to our
Maryborough group on Wednesday 27 August. These gatherings are a great way to share, listen and connect in a safe and friendly space.
We’re also excited to welcome Matt King to the Fraser Coast and Hinkler team! Matt brings a wealth of experience in education, the creative arts, and disability advocacy, and we’re thrilled to have him on board.
Together, we’re creating safer spaces, stronger connections, and communities where everyone belongs.
You can look forward to a welcoming space where stories are shared, experiences are heard, and support is always on offer. A light lunch will be provided, and there’s no pressure — just an opportunity to connect with people who truly understand.
