Happy New Year and welcome to 2025.
I’m back at work and I will be attending a few exciting events this year.
I joined Diversity Modelling, which is for people with disabilities who want to be models. Diversity Models take photos of the participants, then add those photos to their Facebook page and Instagram, hoping to find clients who will be interested in the models.
I went on a modelling bootcamp, where I learnt how to apply makeup, but not so much makeup where it makes your looks look fake, but just enough to make you stand out. I learnt how to catwalk—it was hard since it was my first attempt. We also did headshots. Some nights we do go out and party if, one, you’re not under age or two, if not too tired.
I have been working on an easy-to-read facilitation manual with Matt and Beth—two colleagues who work for Parent to Parent, which I also work for. We are going to be offering facilitation training to people with disabilities this year.
I will be going to the Northern Territory in a few months time to do PATH training with people with disabilities. I have done a training manual with Beth and Matt.
In doing what I am doing this year with Diversity Modelling and PATH Training Module with Matt and Beth, I am opening heaps of doors where people with disabilities can achieve the impossible.
