There are a number of changes happening across the NDIS from 1 July 2026. While not all of these changes will affect every participant, they may influence how some supports are delivered, claimed and funded in the future.
Annual Pricing Review Released
The NDIA has released its Annual Pricing Review (APR) Report, which provides guidance on NDIS pricing arrangements and rules for the 2026-27 financial year.
The review includes recommendations that may affect some supports, including:
- Increase in the disability support worker pricing for registered providers.
- Proposed reduction of the pricing for unregistered providers delivering Social, Community and Civic Participation supports starting .
- Changes to the recommended prices for some therapy supports.
- A proposed new approach to pricing Short Term Respite (STR) to move to claiming hourly rates and set accommodation pricing.
- New claiming arrangements for some therapy-related activities, such as travel and report writing.
- No changes to current Plan Management fees or Support Coordination price limits.
The prices published by the NDIA are maximum price limits for many NDIS supports. In many cases, participants and providers can agree on a lower price if that works for everyone involved. Providers should not charge more than the applicable price limit.
If your provider would like to change the price they charge under an existing service agreement, they should talk with you first and make sure you agree to the change before it is implemented.
New Registration Requirements for Some SIL Providers
From 1 July 2026, providers delivering Supported Independent Living (SIL) supports will be required to be registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
Transitional arrangements are available for some existing providers who have started their application for registration. If you receive SIL supports, you may wish to speak with your provider about how these changes apply to their service.
Changes for Digital Platform Providers
New registration requirements are also being introduced for some digital platform providers. These are providers that connect participants with support workers through online platforms or apps for example Mable, Hireup or Kynd.
The changes are intended to strengthen safeguards and improve oversight of services delivered through these platforms. If you use a digital platform to find or engage supports, you may wish to ask the provider about any changes that may affect you.
Staying Informed
Many of these changes are designed to support a more consistent, sustainable and transparent NDIS. Some changes are recommendations only at this stage, while others are being introduced through new regulatory requirements.
