Connecting community across the region.
As winter begins to settle in this month, Parent to Parent Moreton Bay invites you to embrace the season with opportunities for connection, friendship, and community. Our June calendar is full of exciting, free events designed especially for people with disability, their families, carers, and supporters.
Start your week with our friendly Walk ’N’ Talk group every Tuesday morning at 9am, meeting at Oasis Cafe, Redcliffe. It’s a wonderful chance to enjoy the fresh sea breeze, share stories, and build friendships—all at your own pace.
If you enjoy fishing or simply love being by the water, join us at Baxter’s Jetty, Shorncliffe on Thursday 5th and 19th of June for Taum’s Fishing Day. Whether you’re an experienced fisher or just want to enjoy the good vibes by the bay, this peer-led group provides everything you need—from fishing rods and bait to a free sausage sizzle. It’s all about connecting and making memories together.
We’re also excited to offer a Start and Lead Your Own Group Workshop on Thursday, 17 June at the Redcliffe Volunteer Hub. This free, hands-on workshop is perfect for people with disabilities, their families, carers, and supporters who want to bring people together around a shared interest. You’ll pick up tips for planning fun activities, learn how to be a welcoming and effective leader, and build confidence in sharing your ideas. Morning tea and lunch are provided, and everyone will receive a certificate of participation.
Our Graphic Facilitation workshop continues in June. Come along and learn how simple drawings can help you plan ideas, solve problems, and create great events — no art skills needed! See you on Tuesday, 10 June at the Let’s Go Studio (Douglas Street, Milton) from 12:00pm – 2:30pm
Then, mark your calendar for our Wellbeing Day by the Bay on Thursday, 26 June at Suttons Beach. This special morning brings together crystal bowl visualisation for calm, creative vision boarding, inspiring speakers, and a nourishing grazing lunch. Plus, join the Redcliffe Peninsula Drum Circle and Jammalong for rhythmic fun and community connection. It’s a beautiful day to breathe, connect, and be inspired—right by the sea.
All events are free thanks to Parent to Parent QLD, proudly supporting families and people with disability for over 25 years. To find out more or let us know you’re coming, reach out to Tee at 0409 606 739 or tee.lovell@p2pqld.org.au.
