MEDIA RELEASE – No Mandatory Independent Assessments

Queensland disability peak bodies held a forum in May to discuss planned changes to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

A clear message came through from the 250 people with a disability, families, supporters, and providers who attended that the proposed introduction of independent assessments is not wanted.

We are calling on the Federal Government to pause the introduction of independent assessments, reset the work to introduce planned changes to the NDIS, and co-design any future changes with people with a disability and families.
