From Payge

Hi guys, Payge here..

This is a brand new year and I can’t believe it’s 2026. Wow, time flies. So let’s kick off this year with a reflection of what happened in 2025 for me. Remember I could not have done what I did without working for it.

Let’s go!

At the start of the new year I moved from an apartment to my own place, to see how I will go. It’s great being able to live independently on my own.

Not just moving in my own place, I also did a lot in 2025.

In March, I went to Alice Springs with my two work colleagues, to teach what PATH is to a group of people with intellectual disabilities and their work colleagues. If you can’t remember what PATH stands for, (Planning Alternative Tomorrows with Hope)

A few weeks after going to Alice Springs, I went to Parliament House in Brisbane and met Minister Leeanne Enoch.

I also did a few catwalks at the Brisbane Expo in March. It was my first time doing catwalks at an event.  I was nervous of course, but very excited.

In May I attended a Film Festival on the Gold Coast.

I flew to Darwin for PATH in May to host and facilitate. It was great to see how interested they felt and the feedback was great.

In June, I did a presentation for a group of TAFE students, wanted to work as support workers for people with disabilities.

Also in June, as a representative of Qld on Our Voice, I also attended the SACID “Leading Through Inclusion” conference in Adelaide. I love seeing my friends from other states. It was inspiring to see how other conferences were led by people with disabilities. I was surprised to see the team, who participated in PATH training from Alice Springs, telling me that they will be presenting a presentation from the knowledge and excitement they had when I inspired them about what PATH was. I was happy and wanted to see how they would do. Unfortunately, that was around the time where I will be doing a presentation with Our Voice.

In August, I participated in a Self – Advocacy Knowledge group for people with intellectual disabilities.

Also in August, I, along with another member of Loud and Clear and our coordinator, were invited and interviewed by Mix FM for our upcoming Loud and Clear conference.

Myself and a few members from Loud and Clear QLD joined up and went to Fair Day Out, promoting our conference that was happening in October.

I went to a formal Clique disco with my amazing boyfriend up in Brisbane. It was incredible.

In October, we of course, held our 10 year anniversary for Loud and Clear Qld.

We moved work offices from Woombye to Nambour. I can’t wait to see our new office space in January 2026!

Oh and I nearly forgot, if you check on the P2P website, there you will find a page and my awesome interview I did a few weeks ago.
