Gladstone Update April 2025

What We’ve Been Working On in Gladstone

Our local team has been busy bringing an exciting new event to life – one that’s all about creating brighter futures for young people with disability.

If you’re a young adult (up to age 30) with disability – or supporting one – and wondering what comes after school, we invite you to join us for a dynamic and inspiring Employment and Education Forum.

This event is designed to connect young people with the tools, knowledge, and networks they need to thrive beyond the classroom.

Here’s what’s on offer:

Guest speakers and expert panels sharing real-world employment journeys, support systems, and pathways to work, further education, and volunteering.

Insights into volunteering – discover how it can build valuable skills and open doors to paid employment.

Access to support information on NDIS, SLES funding, and programs like Be Your Own Boss, PATH, Now You’re 16, and Now You’re 18.

Lived experience stories from young people with disability who have turned volunteering into rewarding careers.

Our speakers and presenters include:

  • Parent to Parent (P2P)
  • Carers Queensland
  • Central Queensland University (CQU)
  • Local young people sharing their success stories

Event details:

Cost: $10 for school students | $25 general admission

Support persons: Free entry with a valid Companion Card (please show card at registration)

We’re proud to support young people in Gladstone as they take the next step towards a future full of possibilities!
