Parent to Parent (P2P) has received funding to deliver the Emergency Planning with People with Intellectual Disability (EPPID) program.
This new initiative will support people with intellectual disability living in the Fraser Coast to better prepare for climate-related disasters.
Through a co-production model, the program will create accessible, Easy Read emergency preparedness resources that reflect the real-world needs, preferences, and communication styles of people with intellectual disability. By engaging stakeholders across health, disability, and emergency services, the project also aims to strengthen cross-sector collaboration and embed inclusive planning practices into routine disaster preparedness systems.
The project is supported by the Resilient CARE program, a Country to Coast Queensland and Australian Business Volunteers partnership, with funding from the Australian Government.
If you would like to be involved in the program or would like further information, please contact Sonja Van Bruggen on 0427 192 781 or sonja@p2pqld.org.au.
