Four movie picks that represent ‘Trust’ according to P2P Staff.
It’s February again, and you know what that means—romance and LOVE is just around the corner! While you might not see homes decked out with grand displays, lights, or ornaments for the occasion, it’s still a special time to show love and appreciation. And sure, that often means celebrating with romantic partners or spouses.
But Valentine’s Day isn’t just about romance. It’s about all the meaningful connections that lift us up—friendships, family bonds, and the people who make us feel whole. It’s a day to celebrate trust, special memories, and the moments that remind us why certain people hold a special place in our hearts.
And as you know, my passion is sharing stories that capture the spirit of the day. To me, Valentine’s Day is about more than romance—it’s about trust. And that’s something I’m lucky to experience every day here at P2P. This team is one of the most supportive and giving groups I’ve ever been a part of, and I trust each of them completely.
That’s why I asked my teammates to share a film that, to them, represents “Trust” in the most meaningful way. And here are the four recommendations they came up with—perfect for celebrating the many ways we love and trust the people who matter most.
#1 My Octopus Teacher (2020)
“It’s about the connection between a human and animal” a beautiful story of budding trust, and human connection that we learn isn’t just human behavior in many ways. But a natural emotion that is shown through actions, respect and care. “
#2 Still Alice (2014)
“She had to trust the people she relies on like her family, to keep her dignity, to keep her trust. It’s a trust that can be solid, challenging, and fragile.” This very heart-driven take on the day to day struggle and loss of a person’s memories through the disease of Alzheimer’s is on full display in this film. What, however, I feel is also a beautiful factor is that this is a movie that is ultimately about being able to trust people you love during the most upsetting of times in life and how it can often break people, but when you have care and love, you can face the worst of times through to the end with grace.
#3 Charlotte’s Web (1973)
“I usually hate spiders but this film made me love them for a time” This loveable classic film based on the book by EB White is a great showcase of friendship and the test of trust when a farmhouse Spider named Charlotte befriends a lonely piglet in Wilbur. Together they are able to work with other farm animals to save Wilbur’s life. One of those movies that touches on the reasons why we help one another, and how deep down doesn’t seem so big in the grand scheme, yet it is so special it can be your reason to live.
#4 Lord of the Rings Return of the King (2003)
And finally my recommendation. Now this may seem like an odd one to recommend on Valentine’s Day. But when you watch the film to the full extent you understand just how much this story is about trust and bonds. And how all of the main characters rely on one another to do their part even when they face the end of the world as they know it. Also for you romance fans you have a beautiful tale of Aragorn and Arwen’s overcoming the world to be with one another.
On this Valentine’s Day it’s important to understand that not everyone finds romantic love, but we all find connection, friendships and bonds that are forged in love that can last the test of time and beyond even some of the most lovely dovey romances.
From P2P we hope that you feel special on this day.
From your Valentine at P2P.
