This March we’re celebrating an early Easter. This is quite an exciting time for lots of people, as not only is it a celebration of the three days of the death & resurrection of Christ. But also a time when our favorite bunny delivers all children a type of egg, most likely chocolate flavoured.
To celebrate these days what I would like to do is highlight a few films that would be good to showcase during this time. The spirit of Easter is a time when a lot of us can reflect on what we’re thankful for in our lives, and also highlight that we’re all joined together in so many ways. Be that through faith, togetherness, and love, we are all able to connect to the beauty that is what we share in this life and all its glorious moments.
These six films I feel have truly captured the spirit of Easter, and I hope they can help contribute to a beautiful trilogy of days for you all too.
Happy Easter.
#1 Easter Parade (1948)
This masterful classic musical features so many fantastic songs as well as amazing performances that hold your spirit high and make you feel like you have witnessed a spectacle. The story holds a lot of heart too about learning the expression of music.
#2 Steel Magnolia’s (1989)
In this amazing story that everyone’s mum knows, we follow a beautician who learns to become a part of a community in Louisiana while working for her boss Truvey Jones. This film has a lot of heart and is overall a beautiful story of friendship, companionship and togetherness.
#3 Miss Potter (2006)
In this heartfelt biography, we follow the story of the creator of the story Peter Rabbit. This film shows us the value of our imagination and how we connect with our childhood into our adulthood, shows us the value of keeping your heartfelt passion throughout your life and to never give up on yourself. Miss Beatrix Potter’s story will leave you with all these values.
#4 Winnie The Pooh: Springtime with Roo (2004)
Here is a dear film that touches upon the Winnie the Pooh characters and their time to celebrate Easter, but Rabbit (Funny enough) wants to instead make the group focus on spring cleaning. This is a heartfelt tale in the hundred-acre wood for the whole family and a story about the effects of being selfish as well as the spirit of friendship.
#5 Rise of the Guardians (2012)
A beautifully animated epic film about the classic characters of Santa, Sandman, Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny and Jack Frost. This is a film about the power of belief, teamwork, and friendship. Featuring a wonderful cast of colorful characters that everyone at some point in their life has cherished. This film is an inspiring story that the whole family can come together for.
#6 The Miracle Maker (1999)
The Miracle Maker is a quintessential experience for those looking to follow the story of Jesus Christ and the miracles he performed for those in need. In this turn of the century amazing stop motion animation we witness the tale of Jesus through his life, death, and resurrection, and how he showed us the grand beauty of what we can accomplish through faith, through love and through ourselves, when we truly care.
