My Super Powers

It’s a little known fact that I am an international spy.

This is because I had fluffy blue mittens when I was 5…I thought I was James Bond.

What I do at P2P

I help people get the right built environment to suit their needs to make life just that bit easier.

Something I’d like to change about the NDIS/Disability Industry/Community

I guess there are probably many things we would all love to change about the NDIS. It can get a bit frustrating at times and confusing but…I balance these frustrations by thinking aren’t we lucky to even have an NDIS. Many countries don’t!

I love living in a country that I can have a conversation with someone with a disability about how we are going to modify their home to suit their needs…and the government is going to pay for this? How good is that!

Plus the NDIS is really still quite new, it’ll get less frustrating as time goes on.

I have a dream…I would like things just to be a little simplified and easier to understand with clearer maps on how to get to the point you need to be at, without jargon, without contradiction, without “I’ve read this 4 times, my brain hurts and I still don’t know what it’s about”, but I’m guessing that all this will come when the NDIS pathway is a little more well trodden.

I love working at P2P because…

I’ve been working for a while now, in a few different industries, starting out a chef believe it or not. All those jobs had a product of sorts that you produce, sell or deliver. When your product is people that you’re helping, you have a very different perspective on “work”.

Working at P2P Housing, I have the opportunity to make a real difference to someone’s life just by making a few design changes and getting their home working for them. If you can go home on Friday knowing that you have made a difference to someone…that’ll do me.

When I’m not at work I love to…

Honda CB 400 Super Four…enough said.

Something on my bucket list

I’ve always wanted to climb Mount Fuji, I’m not even sure why anymore, I’ve just always wanted to do it. I think it may have stemmed from a year 6 geography project but I’m not sure anymore.

I will be ticking this off the list next year.
