P2P is one of eleven organisations that have been funded as part of the Queensland Government’s NDIS Participant Readiness strategy to provide free NDIS Workshops to assist people with disability and their families to be better prepared for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) as it is rolled out over Queensland.

We will continue to offer free Participant Readiness events in the Moreton Bay Area, Sunshine Coast, Gympie and Noosa until June 30, 2018.

Our information sessions closely follow what the NDIS currently deliver as part of their Participant Readiness.  As such, the events are regularly updated with the latest information and resources as it becomes available from the NDIS.

What will you learn from our NDIS Workshops?

  • The difference between the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA)
  • The types of supports the NDIS will and won’t fund
  • How to access the NDIS and what reports may be required
  • How to think about your goals and put them to paper
  • An understanding of the language of the NDIS
  • How your current supports may be affected
  • The process of your pathway into the NDIS

These workshops are an invaluable tool for preparing for the NDIS and for giving confidence to each of us.

Terrific to have Renita share her experience. Great to do a quick P.A.T.H for Katy and one goal practice example.

As a special education teacher who wants to inform students of the next step, Pearl was extremely informative and gave lots of direction as to how NDIS will assist individuals.  Great to have a variety of people at the session to see and understand others situations.

Just a quick note to say thank you for the workshop in Maryborough yesterday.  It was refreshing to have the presentation with two people who are actually carers themselves – they totally get it!
