Emergency Planning Clinic – Complete your My Emergency Plan today: Hervey Bay

March 12 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Emergency Workshops Fraser Coast and Hinkler

Emergencies can happen at any time and often without warning. Floods, storms, fires, and power outages can be confusing and overwhelming — particularly for people with intellectual disability and those who support them.

Emergency Planning with People with Intellectual Disability (EPPID)  is a project in the Fraser Coast Region (Hervey Bay and Maryborough), Butchulla Country. It helps people with intellectual disability be ready for floods, storms, fires and other natural disasters.

To help individuals feel safer and more confident, we are offering FREE EPPID Emergency Planning Sessions. These sessions are designed for people with intellectual disability, as well as their families and carers, to build practical skills and create clear, personalised emergency plans.

Venue: Urangan Community Wellness Centre – The Tree House, Botanical Gardens, 105 Elizabeth Street URANGAN
Day & Times: Thursdays, 9.00am – 12.00pm
What you’ll gain from attending:
  • An easy-to-use emergency planning workbook
  • Support to create a personalised emergency plan
  • Guidance from friendly, trained facilitators
  • A welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment
  • The option to attend alongside family members or carers

Having an emergency plan in place means you know what to do if something unexpected happens. It also helps others understand how best to support you, reduces stress and confusion, and ensures your individual needs are clearly written down and easy to follow.
