Dr Jonathan Mason (Director, Psychology Clinic; Associate Professor Clinical Psychology) is leading a research project at the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) about caregivers’ experiences of internet use by people with intellectual disability. The project follows on from earlier research carried out by the team which included interviews with people with intellectual disability in Far North Queensland, Central Queensland and South East Queensland to find out about their lived experience of internet use.
The research team are currently inviting people over 18 years of age who care for individuals with intellectual disability (such as family members and support workers) to share their views so they can build a more comprehensive picture of the key issues people experience in relation to internet use by people with intellectual disability.
They have created an online survey for caregivers who would like to take part in the research. Distributing the survey to as many people as possible will help to ensure the data is representative of a wide range of issues and experiences.
If you would like to participate in the survey you can follow this link or contact Sarah Glencross firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like more information.
